Mozy. Mozy is a very popular online data backup service. They offer personal and business plans. The personal plans start from $5 a month and give you unlimited backup of one PC. They also have a free online plan for 2 gigs or less.

Xdrive. Xdrive is a Mozy competitor now owned by AOL. They have a free plan for 5 gigs of data or less. Their program provides both automatic backup and a “virtual harddrive.” A virtual harddrive simply lets you drag files on to a lettered drive (e.g. “j”) and then access this password protected storage from another computer elsewhere in the world.

I-Drive. If you are a Mac user, the I-Disk program for Mac provides these services in a very Mac Friendly environment. There is an IDisk for PCs as well to integrate the Windows box into your virtual network.
